Mahango game reserve

The Mahango Game Reserve borders on the perennial Okavango River, and extends
over 244 km². Mahango is situated in the Caprivi strip close to the Okavango Delta and is
one of the most diverse game reserves in Namibia, there is everything from swamp to dry savannah habitat.

The game that can be seen in Mahango is just as diverse as the landscape with
Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Hippo, Crocodile, Giraffe, Sable, Roan, Kudu,
Sitatunga, Lechwe, Puku, Reedbuck, Impala, Warthog to name but a few that can bee seen
in the reserve it makes it a must for all tourist in the area to visit this reserve.

Game drives are done from the lodge that SMJ Safaris uses just out side the park.
The Lodge is situated next to the Okavango River which makes this an ideal setting
for fishing as well. Tiger fish and other species of bream can be caught in the river from
boat by spinning and fly casting.
